Notre Dame hires new basketball coach

Notre Dame High Schools New Basketball Coach

Notre Dame High School is pleased to announce Bart Suellentrop has been selected as the new Varsity Basketball Head Coach. Suellentrop, who’s been the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Clayton High School since 2016, will replace Mark DeGreeff who stepped down last month.

Suellentrop brings almost 30 years of high school head coach/assistant coach experience to Notre Dame and he’s also coached club basketball the past four years.

A 1995 graduate of Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, Suellentrop has been a Physical Education teacher at Mary Queen of Peace Grade School since 2007 and has taught at various grade schools and high schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis since 1997.

“I’m excited about the opportunity,’’ said Suellentrop. “I’ve always followed the Notre Dame program. It’s always been one of those places I kept track of. I can’t wait to get to work with the girls.’’

The Rebels, who will be joining the Girls Independent Schools League this year, open their season December 3 with a road game against Cor Jesu.
