Breaking a Decade-Long Streak: Mattie Clifton Earns All-State Softball Honors

Mattie Clifton Earns All-State Softball Honors

Maddie earns all stars

Notre Dame High School’s softball program is celebrating a remarkable achievement: an All-State selection! 🎉

Last week, senior Mattie Clifton was named to the 2024 Class 3 1st Team All-State, as voted by coaches in the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association (MHSFCA).

Clifton earned this honor as an At-Large selection, following her stellar performances that also saw her named 1st Team All-District and All-Region Utility Player. Let’s take a moment to appreciate her incredible stats:

  • .471 batting average

  • 40 hits, including 13 doubles

  • 22 RBI and 28 runs scored

Clifton showcased her versatility by excelling in multiple positions, primarily at first base and in the outfield. But that’s not all—she also made significant contributions as a pitcher this fall. Appearing in 17 games, she:

  • Started 7 times

  • Racked up 42 strikeouts

  • Compiled an impressive 4-2 record

Her achievements mark a major milestone for Notre Dame softball, as the last player to earn All-State honors was Aimilia McDonough in 2013.

Congratulations, Mattie, on this well-deserved recognition! You’ve made the Notre Dame community proud, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish next. 🥎✨
