Notre Dame Robotics Hosts Successful Robotics Event with 9 Schools
This past weekend, Notre Dame High School was buzzing with energy as we hosted the highly anticipated "STL South ND Meet" for local robotics teams. Nine schools, both private and public, gathered to showcase their robotics skills in a day filled with exciting challenges, teamwork, and innovation. The event featured a unique "coopertition" format—where teams competed in four-team matches, constantly switching alliance partners after each round. This dynamic setup created a spirit of collaboration and competition that made for an unforgettable experience.
The event was a huge success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of several key individuals. Robotics team members include: Megan Kelley, Madelyn Kohlman, Nichole Daues, and Jenna Loscheider were central to the planning and execution of the day. Known for being the best meet hosts in the league, Notre Dame made sure that participants had a memorable experience, offering amenities such as music and concessions to enhance the atmosphere.
This event marked the fourth meet hosted by Notre Dame since the COVID pause, and it was clear that the tradition of hosting top-tier robotics meets is alive and well. A special shoutout goes to David Brosch, ND's STEM Coordinator, for his incredible organization and leadership throughout the event. His efforts were vital in making sure everything ran seamlessly.
With the points earned throughout the event contributing to league rankings, the atmosphere was charged with friendly competition, while the emphasis on "coopertition" encouraged collaboration and camaraderie among all the teams. The event was a perfect reminder of the importance of teamwork, innovation, and community, and we’re already looking forward to the upcoming big qualifier tournament in two weeks, where judging will take place.
Overall, the "STL South ND Meet" was a true testament to the dedication and spirit of the Notre Dame robotics team. It’s clear that the future of STEM at Notre Dame is bright, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
