🌟 Black History Month: A Year of Hope! 🌟
Today, we came together as a school community to celebrate, reflect, and uplift during our Black History Month assembly! ✨
A Powerful Gathering
We were honored to hear from Danielle Harrison, President of Mission Faith Equity Consulting, who shared inspiring words about resilience, unity, and faith. Her message reminded us:
💬 "Black History Month reminds us that this is a year of hope. We are hope-filled people. No matter what comes our way – we continue to hold on to hope."
🎶 Praise Through Dance! 🎶
This year, our student-led committee brought something extra special—an electrifying praise dance set to "War Cry" by Queen Naija! Inspired by the rich tradition of church praise dancing, this performance was a powerful display of faith and expression.
đź’¬ Behind the Scenes:
“We all had our own unique input on different parts of the dance that helped it come together into something special.” – Nija Greene
“Doing our own special dance has been a tradition at Notre Dame, and we made sure to come together again to carry it on for another year.” – Dasia Harris '26 (Junior)
Black History Month is about more than remembering—it’s about celebrating, learning, and moving forward with hope. Today was a reminder of the strength and joy that continues to shape our future!
